BLOG ACTION DAY: A CHALLENGE TO INDY FILMMAKERS TO SAVE THE WORLD
10.15.09

I’ve come to realize, addressing climate change is a lot like tackling the huge endeavor of making a film.

You start with something you’re passionate about, that you love to the core.  You want to share it with the world.  Despite the endless challenges like no money, lack of resources and exhaustion, you find a way to plow forward.  Before you know it you’ve got a whole film staring back at you that you sacrificed for, fought for and gave everything you could for.

These skills make indy filmmakers so prepped to take on the problem of climate change.  We know how to get things done no matter what.

This is my challenge to indy filmmakers everywhere; let’s use some of that amazing creative energy we have as artists and pour it into our love for mother earth.

I know addressing climate change can seem like a daunting task, but it’s all about baby steps.  If all you can do on your next production is ask everyone to bring a reusable cup to eliminate plastic water bottles from your set, do that!

I’m happy to dialogue with any fellow filmmakers who reach out.  Or check out our green page for more information on what we did.

And maybe, just maybe, the independent film community can join together, become real life superheroes and help save the world.
